Gary Skuse is an expert on bioinformatics, cancer genetics, human genetics, biotechnology and bioinformatics education. He has extensive experience in RNA processing, cancer genetics-particularly those involving tumor suppressor genes-and information management technologies. Skuse is also knowledgeable about the biotechnology industry in western New York.

Skuse is the director of bioinformatics in the Department of Biological Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. He also provides consulting services for a number of local, national and international interests in the areas of human genetics, biotechnology and information management.

Skuse received his bachelor's from University of Rochester (1979), his Ph.D. from Syracuse University (1984), was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, Department of Biological Chemistry (1984-1986) and on the faculty of the Department of Medicine, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (1986-1998).
