Bob Barbato is professor of management in RIT’s E. Philip Saunders College of Business. His primary teaching and research interests are in the areas of business ethics, entrepreneurship and organizational behavior.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Barbato has taught or lectured in Kosovo, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, South Korea, Ethiopia and England.

In 1987, Barbato opened USA Baby in Rochester, a children's furniture retail store, which he sold in 1995. He was also the owner of Don’s Original at Sea Breeze, a fast food restaurant, until 1991, and Don’s Original at Charlotte until 1987. In 1991, Barbato was elected to the Brighton Town Council. He was re-elected in 1995 and served until 1999.

A native of Rochester, Barbato graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1968. He received a B.A. in mathematics from Le Moyne College in 1972 and a Ph.D. in management from Michigan State University in 1979.
