H1N1 (Swine) Flu Emergency Preparedness

Frequently asked questions

H1N1 Flu Vaccine

Students

RIT Student Health Center has received a limited number of doses of H1N1 vaccine. Currently we have 100 doses of the injection formulation to be used for students with medical problems which place them at high risk for complications of flu infection. In addition, we now have 200 doses of the nasal spray form; this H1N1 vaccine is designated for healthy adults, who have no chronic health problems.

The Health Center staff will administer vaccinations to students under 25 years of age on November 18 and 19 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, until our current supply is gone.

Please bring your student ID card.

We expect additional deliveries, but the NYS Department of Health has not indicated a date for the next shipment. If you should miss this opportunity, please monitor the RIT and Student Health Center web sites for announcements of additional H1N1 vaccine clinics.

For additional information, please call the Student Health Center: 475-2255 (475-5515-TTY). Please be patient if the lines are busy with other callers.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff are encouraged to contact their primary care provider regarding receiving the H1N1 flu vaccine.

Faculty, staff and students may also go to a Monroe County H1N1 Flu Vaccination Clinic. Clinics will be held on November 19th and 21st at several locations around the County. See the County Executive’s press release for more information.
