University leaders and dignitaries will break ground at 4 p.m. today on the 4,150-seat Gene Polisseni Center, the future home of Division I Tiger hockey. It can also be viewed online via streaming video. Construction will continue for two years with an opening planned for the 2014–2015 season. more »

Student wins microbiology fellowship
Kimbria Blake, a third-year biochemistry student, received a $4,000 stipend, a two-year student membership to the American Society for Microbiology and funding for travel expenses to the society’s national meeting in Denver in May. more »
