Jazz guitarist Kevin Eubanks takes center stage at Ingle Auditorium on Feb. 1. Music critics describe Eubanks as "resplendent, evocative, with compelling melodic delivery and stunning improvisational style"—but you don't have to take their word for it. For a preview, tune into "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where Kevin Eubanks has served as the musical director for the past two years.

Playing acoustic and electric guitar, and occasionally synthesizer, Eubanks will perform two concerts, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 1, in Ingle, sponsored by the College Activities Board. Tickets— $6 for RIT students, $10 for staff, faculty and alumni, and $13 for general public—are available at the Candy Counter in the Student Alumni Union. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and again at 9 p.m.
The versatility that Eubanks displays on "Tonight" stems from his lifelong interest in all kinds of music from rock and funk as a youth to jazz/fusion as a teenager. Eubanks explores the latter genres during his lengthy association with the GRP label, for which he recorded seven albums—an "eclectic, accessible series . . . weaving the kinds of refreshing, listenable solos that have made him one of jazz's most respected artists."
