| RIT SUPPORTS THE
ROCHESTER COMMUNITY . . . |
RIT placed third in the Education Division of the American Heart Association's
Heart Walk 1999, raising nearly $4,000 from more than 100 faculty, staff
and student participants. RIT team leaders, left to right, Sarah Whiffen,
Residence Life; Hamad Ghazle, College of Science and Faculty in Residence;
and Thomas Richardson, College of Science, presented a plaque to President
Simone for his support of community service activities, including the donation
of funds to create t-shirts for each walker. Residence Life used the event
as part of their Celebration of Community. The next Heart Walk will be March
18, 2000. Individuals interested in being team captains from clubs, dorms,
departments, programs or colleges can contact Richardson at 5-7486, or Ghazle
at 5-2241, for more information.
