Paley art installed this summer

A
monumental sculpture will enhance the architectural landscape at RIT
come September with an eye-catching installation that promises to literally “steel” your
breath away. Aptly named The Sentinel, this colossal structure will be
Albert Paley’s signature masterpiece and RIT’s landmark centerpiece.
If a lesson can be learned from Paley, RIT’s Charlotte Fredericks
Mowris Chair in the School for American Crafts, it’s that the word
big is all relative.

Outward
appearances do matter. Even though RIT’s university-wide facelift
parallels the basic principles of Feng Shui—to create the ideal,
balanced and nurturing environment in which to live and work—the
transformation will surely be the talk of the town, as well as on campus.
