Distinguished alumni


Brian Chontosh 00

Eight RIT graduates and a member of the Board of Trustees will be honored Feb. 3 during the Alumni Award Celebration.

Brian R. Chontosh ’00 (mechanical engineering technology) will receive the Outstanding Alumnus award. Chontosh, a Rochester native, attended RIT while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Distinguished Alumni are Renee Macklin ’79, B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences; Ronald Ricotta ’79, College of Business; Emmanuel Marcano Jr. ’82, College of Applied Science and Technology; Charles Volpe ’59, Kate Gleason College of Engineering; Richard Close Jr. ’91, College of Liberal Arts; Brian O’Shaughnessy ’84, College of Science; and Jelica Nuccio ’88, NTID.

Burton S. August, an RIT trustee since 1984 and longtime supporter of the university, is Volunteer of the Year.

This year, the Distinguished Alumni awards will be presented at 9 a.m. in the Golisano Auditorium. The Outstanding Alumnus and Volunteer of the Year awards will be presented at 1 p.m. at the RIT Inn & Conference Center.
