Abi Aghayere, professor of civil engineering technology, co-wrote Reinforced Concrete Design, Sixth Edition (2006).

James Fleming, professor of political science, won the Andrew Eiseman Writers Award in the nonfiction category for Window on Congress: A Congressional Biography of Barber B. Conable, Jr.

Kevin Kochersberger, associate professor of mechanical engineering, addressed NASA engineers about his experience piloting a reproduction 1903 Wright Flyer during a 2003 re-enactment marking the centennial celebration of the Wright brothers’ first powered flight. Kochersberger’s talk, “From a Dream to First Powered Flight: Reflections on the Wright Experience,” was earlier this spring at Edwards Air Force Base, in California.

Bill Larsen, associate professor of civil engineering technology, delivered a talk on stormwater management and erosion control related to reforestation in Haiti at the 2006 Central and Western New York Stormwater Conference and Trade Show, co-sponsored by RIT’s civil engineering technology/environmental management and safety department, in March, at the RIT Inn & Conference Center.

Andrew Moore, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, presented an update of his research at the Neolithic site at Danilo, Croatia, at the annual meeting of the Croatian Archeological Society last fall. He co-wrote “The Development of Farming in the Adriatic Basin: New Research at Danilo in Dalmatia” in the journal Obavijesti. He published the book chapters “Abu Hureyra and the development of farming in western Asia: directions for future research,” in Neolithic Revolution and “The Abu Hureyra Project: Investigating the beginning of farming in western Asia,” in The Widening Harvest. Moore reviewed the book, Ramad for the Journal of Near Eastern Studies.
