RIT mourns the loss of Jane Culver

RIT is mourning the loss of Jane Culver, senior staff specialist, who died June 1. The RIT flag will be lowered to half-staff in her honor on June 13.

Ms. Culver joined RIT in 2014 and supported the University Advising Office, RIT Advisor’s Council and the Deans’ delegates for advising. Her contributions helped to advance the undergraduate advising program across the colleges and university.

“Jane loved being part of the community,” said Lynne Mazadoorian, assistant vice president for student success, and director, University Advising Office. “Her dedication and commitment were unmatched. Jane took immense pride in her work and relationships with colleagues and friends across campus. She will be greatly missed on our team. Our prayers are with Jane’s family and friends.”

Ms. Culver is survived by her children, Laura and Daniel Culver; three grandchildren; siblings Mark Mahatcke, Laura (Gary) Kerr, and Mary (John) Plummer; many extended family members; and numerous friends.

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at Young Funeral Home, 4025 Ridge Road, Williamson, N.Y. Face masks will be required.
