‘What Makes a Business Work’ Will Be Discussed in RIT Talk

Bart Guerreri, chairman and chief executive officer of DSD Laboratories Inc., in Sudbury, Mass., will discuss “What Makes a Business Work: Behind the Scenes at DSD Laboratories and Backbone Security” in an upcoming talk at Rochester Institute of Technology.
In managing his business, Guerreri emphasizes hiring smart people and staying out of their way, treating his employees as assets, teamwork, passion, customer satisfaction and not settling for “good.” Guerreri, a 1967 RIT graduate, will speak 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in Xerox Auditorium in RIT’s James E. Gleason Building.
In his career, Guerreri has been a design engineer, business troubleshooter, entrepreneur, inventor and businessman. He has earned several honors and awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year, and a spot in Who’s Who in America. He holds two engineering degrees and over 30 patents and publications, and he serves as an adviser to the U.S. Congressional Armed Services Committee.
