RIT Mini-Baja Team Races to 16th place in East Competition

Rochester Institute of Technology’s mini-Baja team captured 16th place overall among more than 65 competitors in its first competition of 2006, held April 12-16 in Auburn, Ala.

RIT’s two cars excelled in the land maneuverability portion of the competition, taking second and third place. They also earned a 5th place finish in the suspension and traction trials.

RIT’s mini-Baja team is sponsored by the manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology/ packaging science department in the university’s College of Applied Science and Technology, the college of innovation. Mini-Baja competitions are sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers and Briggs & Stratton Corp.
