RIT Hosts 6th Annual Dodgeball Tournament for Charity, Feb. 4

MEDIA ADVISORY: PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

Every year, RIT students compete in a special tournament—they knock each other out to serve others.

The sixth annual RIT Dodgeball Tournament begins at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Student Life Center, RIT campus. Pizza, drinks and t-shirts for every competitor will be provided, and winning teams will receive prizes from local sponsors. The event is hosted by members of Phi Kappa Psi, who will donate this year’s proceeds to the Deseray Briggs Memorial Scholarship fund.

The scholarship fund honors Deseray Briggs, an RIT student who was the victim of a fatal accident in 2002. Her parents have established the fund in her memory with the ultimate goal of awarding an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a graduating senior of the high school Deseray attended.
