RIT Spirit Week to Include Talent Search and Football Game, Feb. 3-9

It may not be spring break yet, but students at Rochester Institute of Technology are taking a break from their studies to showcase their spirit.

RIT Student Government will host a week of special events from Feb. 3-9. “Spirit Week” will be filled with exciting activities to engage students and highlight abilities and interests. This year’s underlying theme of “unity” will raise appreciation of RIT students as a talented and diverse community. Events on the RIT campus include:

  • 6 p.m. – 3 a.m. Feb. 3, LAN (Local Area Network) Party in the Student Alumni Union cafeteria. Individuals will compete together on a local network in an overnight computer game marathon.
  • Noon-2 p.m. Feb. 4, Faculty and Staff vs. Student Flag Football Game on the turf field, RIT campus
  • 6-11 p.m. Feb. 5, Superbowl Party in Clark Gymnasium. Students can watch the game with hundreds of their closest friends (and get free food and prizes.)
  • 9 p.m.-Midnight. Feb. 9, Tiger Idol Finals in Clark Gymnasium. Talent showcase of any RIT student gifting—from martial arts to comedy to piano concertos. Judges will rate the top 10 finalists as they compete for a top prize of $500. Auditions will be held Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. in the Student Alumni Union cafeteria.
