WYSL 1040 To Broadcast RIT Hockey Games

WYSL 1040 AM will broadcast 35 RIT men’s hockey games in 2005-06, RIT’s inaugural season in Division I. WYSL will broadcast 20 games live and 15 games will be tape delayed.

“We are pleased to partner with RIT in their broadcast coverage of men's hockey this season,” said WYSL-AM (1040) Station Manager J.C. DeLass. “It's especially thrilling for our radio station to be a part of this historic season as the Tigers bring Division I sports to Rochester and our listeners.”

The broadcasts will feature the radio play-by-play of WITR (89.7 FM) announcers.

RIT opens the 2005-06 season on Oct. 8 when they host Waterloo University in an exhibition game. The Tigers open the regular season on Oct. 14 at the Quinnipiac Tournament.

“We are very pleased to be able to provide our hockey fans in the area with quality broadcasts of RIT Division I Men's Ice Hockey through our partnership with WYSL and WITR (RIT’s station),” said Lou Spiotti, director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation. “It will prove to be one of the finest radio broadcast packages at any level of college hockey.”
