RIT Offers Entertainment Series to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Rochester Institute of Technology will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by offering Latin American music, film, comedy and theater this October.

Events planned include:

Saturday, Oct 1:
Aventura (Concert) 9:00 p.m., Clark Gymnasium. Sounds of the four-member Dominican-American boy band incorporate hip-hop, R&B, rock, merengue, and reggaeton flavors, but still remain true to a traditional “bachata” sound. Thursday, Oct 6:
The Motorcycle Diaries (Movie) 10:00 p.m., SAU, Ingle Auditorium. The movie is about Che Guevara’s journey of exploration through South America on a motorcycle. The event is free. Contact: Carol Reed, 585-475-6931, cjr2033@rit.edu

Saturday, Oct 15:
An 11 p.m. comedy show featuring actor Joey Vega has been sold out.

Wednesday, Oct. 26:
Tres Vidas (Play) 1:00 p.m., SAU, Ingle Auditorium. A chamber music production based on the lives of three Latin American women: a poet, a painter and a peasant activist. Featuring actress Georgina Corbo. For tickets, contact John Roche at 475-4922 or jfrgla@rit.edu
