The majority of violence against women happens at night.

In an effort to empower women to reclaim the night, the Womens Center at Rochester Institute of Technology will host its annual event, Take Back the Night, from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

Take Back the Night is an annual campus-wide event that fights violence against women and seeks to empower women to be unafraid of the night. This years event begins in the breezeway in front of Clark Gymnasium with a march around campus at 7 p.m.

It culminates with a rally at 8 pm. with speakers, poetry and a performance by the RIT womens a cappella group, Encore. The event is free and open to the public.
