Uno Chicago Grill Helping RIT Hospitality and Service Management Students

Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Hospitality and Service Management is teaming up with Uno Chicago Grill, 1000 Hylan Drive, Henrietta, to raise money for RIT's annual “Puttin' on the RITz” dinner-dance and the university's hospitality education fund.

On Feb. 16, Uno's will accept coupons donating 10 percent of customers' bills toward the dinner-dance, which raises funds supporting educational student travel, undergraduate and graduate awards, equipment and scholarships. The black-tie RITz gala, this year marking its 20th anniversary, will be on April 2 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 Main St., Rochester.

Coupons for the Feb. 16 fund-raiser are available from the School of Hospitality and Service Management, located on the fourth floor of RIT's George Eastman Building. Uno's is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 16.

For the third consecutive year, an alumnus of RIT's School of Hospitality and Service Management, Drew Nye, who is bar manager at Elixir, 938 South Clinton Ave., Rochester, donated a night's worth of tips—more than $300—to benefit RIT's “Puttin' on the RITz” dinner-dance. Nye, a 2004 RIT graduate, has donated more than $1,000 to the RITz dinner over three years.

Baldwin Richardson Foods Co. recently gave $5,000 to RIT's School of Hospitality and Service Management to support food-service technology.
