RIT Mini-Baja Team Captures Top Five Finish in Mini Baja East

Rochester Institute of Technology’s mini-Baja team captured fifth place in the Mini Baja East last weekend in Montreal, marking the team’s third top-10 finish in three competitions so far this year.

Competing among more than 60 teams in the East contest, RIT earned top-10 placements for endurance, maneuverability, top speed, braking and “bus pull.” The competition, hosted by the University of Quebec, was held at Ski Bromont.

Earlier this spring, RIT earned fifth and sixth-place finishes in the Midwest Mini Baja in Portland, Ore., and a seventh-place finish in the Mini Baja Brazil in São Paulo. Next, RIT travels to Milwaukee for the Midwest Mini Baja, June 3-6.

RIT’s mini-Baja team is supported by the manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology/packaging science department in the university’s College of Applied Science and Technology. Mini-Baja competitions are sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers and Briggs & Stratton Corp.
