RIT Speaker Series Explores Technology and the American Experience, April 19

The ways technology has altered American society will be explored during an upcoming talk at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Scholar Clark Bullard will present “Managing Technological Innovation” on Monday, April 19. The event—free and open to the public—will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in the B. Thomas Golisano College Auditorium. The talk is part of RIT’s American studies seminar on Technology, Humanities and the American Experience.

Bullard, professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will talk about how market forces and public policies combine to direct technological innovation. He will focus on specific examples from the agricultural and energy sectors, and touch on current debates about global warming, genetically modified organisms and management of the oceans.
