RIT Hosts Take Back the Night, April 19

The majority of violence against women happens at night.

In an effort to empower women to reclaim the night, the Women’s Center at Rochester Institute of Technology will host its annual event, Take Back the Night, from 8 to 10 p.m. on Monday, April 19.

Take Back the Night is an annual campus-wide event that fights violence against women and seeks to empower women to be unafraid of the night. This year’s event begins at the sundial outside of Grace Watson Hall and includes a student rally with speakers, poetry and a drum circle.

It culminates with a march around campus led by drummers. The events is free and open to the public. Rain location is Fireside Lounge in the Student Alumni Union.
