RIT Mini-Baja Team at Final Spring Competition

Troy, Ohio, is site of annual Midwest Mini Baja this week

Rochester Institute of Technology’s mini-Baja team competes in its third and final spring competition, the Midwest Mini Baja, today through Sunday, June 8, in Troy, Ohio.

The contest features more than 140 teams in challenges such as hill climbing, rock climbing, top speed, water maneuverability, engineering design, and four-hour endurance race. RIT is racing two mini-Baja cars.

Last month, RIT earned seventh place in the Mini Baja West in Provo, Utah, capturing first place in the "rock crawl" challenge. In April, RIT placed seventh and 15th at the Mini Baja East in Orlando, Fla., while taking first place for acceleration.

The Midwest Mini Baja is hosted by the Dayton section of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Mini-Baja competitions are sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers and Briggs & Stratton Corp.
