Twenty-three-mile fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis research

If a person on Rollerblades travels at an average speed of 8-miles-an-hour, a trip from Rochester Institute of Technology to Geneseo will take just under three hours. The Delta Phi Epsilon sorority is sponsoring the 10th annual Rollerblade to Geneseo event on Sunday, April 27.

The Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser kicks off behind Wallace Library at 8 a.m. with registration and breakfast. Then, at 9 a.m., the 23-mile ride to Geneseo begins. A $15 registration fee includes breakfast, lunch and a student-designed event T-shirt.

Proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis research. In addition to the registration fee, participants are encouraged to get additional donations.

Event organizers expect about 100 people to skate (and bike) to Geneseo. "We’ve had great student turnout in previous years for this fun and healthy event," says Carrie Senise, Delta Phi Epsilon event organizer.

The event is open to the public, age 18 and older. To participate, visit http://www.rit.edu/~dphiewww/o or contact Carrie Senise at 314-6935 or cms4059@rit.edu.
