Business and Labor Leaders to Discuss Globalization’s Impact on Rochester

RIT to hold business-labor roundtable on Jan. 30

Global Meets Local: A Business-Labor Roundtable will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, as part of the Caroline Werner Gannett Lecture Series. Representatives from Rochester’s leading corporations and the AFL-CIO will discuss the economic and civic challenges posed by globalization.

The roundtable will start at 7:30 p.m. in Webb Auditorium of the James E. Booth Building on RIT’s Henrietta campus.

"Business executives from Kodak and Xerox, along with the president of the Rochester Labor Council will present their views on how globalization is impacting Rochester and the regional economy," says Robert Manning, the Caroline Werner Gannett Professor of Humanities at RIT and director of the Gannett lecture series. "Topics will include international trade, job creation, future product development, environmental issues and corporate-community relationships."

The event—free and open to the public—will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
