Conesus Woman Chosen Student Delegate at RIT

Hillary Beecher of Conesus will represent the College of Applied Science and Technology as student delegate to Rochester Institute of Technology’s 117th commencement, May 24-25. She will deliver a graduation speech during commencement ceremonies on May 24.

Beecher, an environmental management and safety major, is the daughter of David and Valerie Beecher of East Lake Road.

Recipient of a Presidential Scholarship and an Alumni Scholarship, she was named to the Dean’s List and was active in RIT’s Student Environmental Action League. As an environmental specialist on a co-op with Erdman Anthony & Associates Inc., a Henrietta-based engineering firm, she performed Phase I site assessments, exit audits and NEPA audits at sites in New York and Pennsylvania. She aspires to a position in environmental management working in government policymaking and lobbying.

Note: Commencement ceremonies for RIT’s College of Applied Science and Technology begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 24. RIT’s academic convocation ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. on May 24. George Tenet, director of the Central Intelligence Agency, will deliver the commencement address.
