Take Back the Night
RIT event aims to help fight the abuse of women around the world
The majority of violence against women happens at night.
In an effort to empower women to reclaim the night, the Women’s Center at Rochester Institute of Technology will host its annual event, Take Back the Night, from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
Take Back the Night is a campus-wide event which includes a student rally with speakers, bands and a community service fair on the Greek Lawn. It culminates with a candlelight march around campus led by drummers along Andrews Drive (the road that circles campus), plus a band performance finale.
