Foreward Magazine recognized Rochester Institute of Technology psychology professor Nicholas DiFonzo, a resident of West Henrietta, for Rumor Psychology, which he co-authored with University of South Australia professor Prashant Bordia.
Rumor Psychology (American Psychology Association) won the Gold Medal-2006 ForeWord Book of the Year Award in the psychology category. The work presents new research and ideas about rumors, gossip and urban legend.
ForeWord Magazine, a trade journal, reviews books released by independent publishing houses. Awards went to the authors of 215 fiction and non-fiction books and were selected based on originality, writing and production quality, and reader interest in the subject matter.
