RIT Outreach: Introducing High School Girls to Engineering

WE Explore provides instruction and research in sustainability and bioengineering

An innovative pre-engineering program designed to introduce high school girls to basic concepts in sustainability and bioengineering is being offered at Rochester Institute of Technology this weekend.

The inaugural one-day event, WE Explore, offers hands-on seminars and a chance to interact with researchers in the areas of fuel-cell development, nanomaterials work, rehabilitation robotics and biotechnology. The event, sponsored by RIT’s Women in Engineering program, or WE@RIT, will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in RIT’s James E. Gleason Building.
