NTID Communications Win National Marketing Honors

Winners beat more than 5,000 entries submitted in competition

A recruitment video, “Dream, Discover, Decide” produced by Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf has won top honors in a national competition held by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

The video received a MarCom Platinum Award, presented to entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition.

The team that produced “Dream, Discover, Decide” includes Bob Borden and Vickie Darcy from NTID Admissions; David Conyer, Don Feigel and Alan Cutcliffe from NTID Educational Design Resources; and Ilene Avallone from NTID Marketing Communications.

The NTID marketing team also received honors for other work:

  • “Tiger Self-Mailers,” a direct-mail series sent to prospective students, won a Gold Award in the competition. The production team includes Mary McConnell, Alexander Gartley, Brenda Monahan and Ellen Shady from University Publications; Bob Borden and Vickie Darcy from NTID Admissions; A. Sue Weisler from University News and Mark Benjamin from NTID Educational Design Resources, both who provided photography for the project; and Ilene Avallone and Shelley Yehl from NTID Marketing Communications.
  • NTID FOCUS Magazine Fall/Winter 2008, received an Honorable Mention Award. The production team includes Jeff Arbegast, Brenda Monahan and Ellen Shady from University Publications; A. Sue Weisler from University News and Mark Benjamin, Jorge Samper, Ben Liddle, Seth Personett and Jason Wittig from NTID Educational Design Resources, all of whom provided photography for the project; Greg Livadas from NTID Media Relations; and Ilene Avallone, Kathy Johncox, Susan Murad and Kathy Smith from NTID Marketing Communications.
