Rochester’s Business Incubators Host Open House Activities Dec. 8

Nearly 2,000 incubators worldwide to recognize Global Business Incubator Day

Creating a dynamic business plan is merely the first step in growing a successful company. Tapping into a supportive environment typically provides the momentum that transforms concept into reality.

In recognition of Global Business Incubation Day, the Lennox Tech Enterprise Center, RIT Venture Creations and the Rochester BioVenture Center will each host an open house to help raise awareness to the importance of business incubation. The events run concurrently from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8.

Initiated by the incubator system in the United Kingdom, Global Business Incubation Day is celebrated by nearly 2,000 incubators around the world to highlight the role incubation plays in the success of start-up companies and in overall economic development.

The three incubator sites in Rochester plan tours along with presenting overview information on the activities, scope and history of each center. In addition, there will be demonstrations by key tenants.

“We hope that those who are already familiar with one facility will take advantage of this opportunity to get to know the others,” states Jerry Mahone, executive director of RIT Venture Creations. “We are planning to increase the collaborative efforts among the incubators, and we hope this event will be just one of many in the future.”

Free shuttle service between Lennox Tech Enterprise Center, 150 Lucius Gordon Drive; RIT Venture Creations, 125 Tech Park Drive; and Rochester BioVenture Center, 77 Ridgeland Road, is offered throughout the afternoon.
