RIT Hosts Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Feb 21-22

Rochester is one of tour’s 285 stops around the world

The Banff Mountain Film Festival, one of the most prestigious mountain festivals in the world, is coming to Rochester Institute of Technology. The festival will take place at 7 p.m., Feb. 21-22, in the Student Alumni Union’s Ingle Auditorium.

This year’s tour features a collection of inspiring and thought-provoking action, environmental and adventure mountain films. It features award-winning films and audience favorites from the approximately 300 films that were entered in the annual festival.

“The 2008/2009 world tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world,” says Tom Connelly, the coordinator of RIT’s Interactive Adventures.

Tickets are $10 students, $11 for faculty, staff and alumni and $12 for the general public and can be purchased by calling the Gordon Field House and Activities Center box office at (585) 475-4121. There is a $1 savings for those who buy tickets for both nights at the same time.
