Artisan Jazz Quartet Performs at Lovin’ Cup

Event will also include poetry presentations by RIT faculty and area writers

The Artisan Jazz Quartet, a Rochester-based ensemble affiliated with the Eastman School of Music, and multiple poets from Rochester Institute of Technology will perform at the Lovin’ Cup Bistro, in Park Point, next to the RIT campus, this Sunday.

The quartet will offer a solo performance and also accompany poetry performances by RIT English department faculty Vincent F.A. Golphin, Paulette Swarzfager and John Roche, as well as Rochester poets Rick Petrie, Kitty Jospe and Colleen Powderly. The event is free and open to the public.

The event was organized by John Roche, RIT associate professor of English. The Artisan Jazz Quartet was formed in 2004 and grew out of the Eastman School of Music’s community education program.
