Visitors attending Gallery r’s spring exhibition will have opportunity to see a unique collection of illustrations showcasing creativity through the use of a tremendous range of concepts and techniques. They include media such as watercolor, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, scratchboard, dimensional, mixed media and digital works.

Gallery r, Rochester Institute of Technology’s Metro Showcase and Learning Laboratory for the Arts, is hosting an exhibition of two and three-dimensional illustrations created by Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates from RIT’s School of Art. The “Senior Illustration Exhibition” runs from March 26 through April 18, with an artist reception from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27.

“We are all very proud of our hard working students’ professional level accomplishments and their continuing efforts to improve existing skills,” says Bill Finewood, associate professor of illustration at RIT’s School of Art. “Their understanding of the need to be competitive in an ever-challenging professional environment is certainly evident in a very strong body of work that will be exhibited over the next few weeks.”

Gallery r, located at 775 Park Ave., is open from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free; for more information call 585-242-9470.
