RIT Dean Enhances Collaborations Between American and European Universities

Robert Ulin receives fellowship to further internationalization of higher education

Robert Ulin, dean of Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Liberal Arts, has been selected to participate in an effort designed to create stronger partnerships between European and American universities.

Ulin has been awarded a German Academic Exchange fellowship to participate in an international program that brings together top administrators of American and European academic institutions and government agencies to improve dialogue and increase partnerships in curriculum development, research and study abroad programming. The weeklong event, “Opening New Horizons,” will be held in early June in Bonn, Germany.

“I am extremely honored to have been accepted for this prestigious fellowship,” notes Ulin. “I hope to provide insights into how European and American universities can better collaborate, while also developing contacts that will advance RIT’s international development efforts.”

The program also includes meetings with officials of the European Union and tours of colleges and universities in Brussels and Berlin. The fellowship is sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service, a national agency tasked with supporting international academic cooperation.
