Saunders College launches Executive Leaders Network Speakers Series

The E. Philip Saunders College of Business launched its Executive Leaders Network Speakers Series on June 16. Designed for senior executives within the upstate New York region, the networking series provides a forum to facilitate networking, promote idea-sharing, and offer ong-term help to promote the regional economy.

The distinguished speaker for the inaugural event was William A. Niskanen, chairman emeritus and distinguished senior economist at the Cato Institute, who discussed “A Libertarian Approach to Restructuring the Financial Markets.”

According to Niskanen, author of Reflections of a Political Economist: Selected Articles on Government Policies and Political Processes, there is more than enough blame to go around. He identified the key culprits—citing leaders of both political parties, the financial sector, and the Bush and Obama-administrations’ response to crisis.

More than 50 people attended the event, including Rochester area senior executives, Saunders College alumni and friends of RIT.
