RIT Graduates Rank High in Annual Salary Study

Average starting salaries for recent RIT alumni is $51,000

Attractive salaries are among the rewards enjoyed by Rochester Institute of Technology alumni, based on the results of a new study that determined the average starting salary and mid-career salary for graduates from colleges and universities around the country.

According to the most recent PayScale College Salary Report, the median starting salary for a recent RIT graduate is $51,000. In addition, the mid-career median salary, which represents individuals with an average of 15 years work experience and have completed no more than a bachelor’s degree, is $82,000 for RIT alumni. Both figures are the highest among Rochester-area institutions included in this survey.

“We believe the success of our graduates is a positive reflection on the very high quality of our students, faculty and academic programs,” states Manny Contomanolis, associate vice president of enrollment management and career services and director of RIT’s co-op and career services program. “When you add to that the great experience our graduates have through our cooperative education, internship and other experiential education programs, their success should be no surprise.”
