Kodak Manager Richard Repka Opens Dean’s Alumni Speaker Series Sept. 24

Electrical engineering alumnus discusses international product development

The 2009-2010 Kate Gleason College of Engineering Dean’s Alumni Speaker Series opens with Richard Repka, a 1983 graduate of the college and Eastman Kodak Co. commercialization manager. He will present “Contactless Payment: International Products, International Development” at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Xerox Auditorium on the RIT campus. The program is free and open to the public.

The presentation will examine radio-frequency identification/near-field communications contactless electronic payment on the Kodak Picture Kiosk. Repka will discuss RFID and NFC technologies, international product development and regulatory issues.

Repka began his career at IBM working on CPU and vector processing simulation. While at Kodak, he held various positions including embedded machine control, software development manager to his current role in the Retail System Solutions Division. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the RIT computer engineering department.
