50 years of soccer celebrated

RIT's men's soccer team took to the field for the first time five decades ago. Original teammates gathered to celebrate the anniversary.

RIT commemorated 50 years of men’s soccer in September and nine members of the first team were on hand for the celebration.

Moreland Lysher ’61 (business administration), Fred Forst ’65 (business administration), Al Meyers ’64 (mechanical engineering), Rich Casanzio ’64 (mechanical engineering), Charlie Puls, Corrado Zollo ’62 (electrical engineering), Otto Maender, Vic Bokhan ’62 (electrical technology) and Jesse Zeck ’65 (electrical engineering), members of RIT's first team in 1959, all attended the reunion.

Activities included the Sixth Annual Doug May Memorial Golf Tournament, the RIT vs. Hobart soccer game, the annual alumni game and a gathering at a local pub.
