Gallery r Hosts Non-Toxic Print Open Exhibition

College students demonstrate artistic talents in printmaking

Visitors attending Gallery r’s newest exhibition will have the opportunity to see a unique collection of non-toxic printmaking processes including Intaglio-type, acrylic-resist etching, polyester plate lithography, water-based printing and water-based relief printmaking.

Gallery r, Rochester Institute of Technology’s metro showcase and learning laboratory for the arts, is hosting the Non-Toxic Print Open Exhibition which runs from Jan. 28 through Feb. 27, with an artist reception from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29.

Juror for the event is Keith Howard, associate professor at RIT’s School of Art and leading non-toxic printmaker innovator and author.

Gallery r, located at 775 Park Ave., is open from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The gallery is also open the first Friday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free; for more information call 585-242-9470.
