Tour features environmental, adventure film collections

The world tour of the Banff Mountain Film Festival will be stopping at RIT’s Webb Auditorium Feb. 20-21.

The world-renowned Banff Mountain Film Festival is known best for its awe-inspiring creativity when it comes to the film productions that it features annually. So, it’s a natural fit that Rochester Institute of Technology has been named as one of the stops of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour as it hits the road.

This year’s tour features a collection of action, environmental and adventure mountain films that will be shown at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 21, in RIT’s Webb Auditorium. The tour, produced by Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre in Canada, showcases a selection of award-winning films and audience favorites spotlighting remote landscapes and cultures to action sports and exploration of mountain regions. Nearly 300 films were entered in the film festival in Banff, and this year’s tour will travel to 285 communities and 30 countries across the globe.

Advance tickets can be purchased at RIT’s Gordon Field House and Activities Center box office, or call (585) 475-4121 to charge by phone. Tickets can also be purchased using Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.
