Gallery r Hosts Fine Arts Exhibition, March 4-April 3

RIT students demonstrate artistic talents in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture

Seven talented Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates at Rochester Institute of Technology will be showcasing their work as they bridge the gap between students and professional artists.

Gallery r, Rochester Institute of Technology’s Metro Showcase and Learning Laboratory for the Arts, is hosting the Senior Fine Arts Studio Exhibition, with artist receptions scheduled from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 5 and March. The show runs through April 3.

“This exhibition highlights recent work from each artist as they investigate form, technique and conceptual ideas,” says Elizabeth Kronfield, assistant professor at RIT’s School of Art. “The senior exhibition is a capstone experience for these individuals.”

The participating seniors are: Joseph Tarantelli, Elise Fouasnon, George Lumb, Ashley Billings, James Cooley, Cheryl Mellott and Shawna Boynton.

Gallery r, located at 775 Park Ave., is open from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The gallery is also open the first Friday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free; for information call 585-242-9470.
