Lynn Rowoth, who spearheaded the RIT 2010 United Way Campaign that raised in excess of $426,000, was named campaign coordinator of the year by the United Way of Greater Rochester. Rowoth has coordinated the fundraiser for the past five years with a team of 250 volunteers annually including RIT retirees, alumni, students, faculty and staff.
Rowoth, who is the director of special events and conferences in the office of Government and Community Relations, received the prestigious Richard P. Miller Sr. Award—named in honor of the second president of the local United Way.
“We at RIT are thrilled to see Lynn Rowoth’s leadership as our campaign coordinator recognized in this way,” says Deborah Stendardi, vice president of government and community relations. “She has taken the RIT campaign to new heights with her dedication and commitment to this vital community asset, and we are exceedingly proud of her and of our campus community’s exemplary support for the United Way.”
