“Finances will not be an obstacle to the adventure of a lifetime,” said Rebecca Johnson, associate of RIT, to the Rochester City Scholars
at a ceremony this summer welcoming them
to the RIT family.

Of the 47 freshmen from the Rochester City School District enrolling at RIT this fall, 27 are part of the new City Scholars program. Last September, President Bill Destler and his wife, Johnson, announced the scholarship program was being established for graduates of the district who would be admitted to RIT as freshmen.

The scholarship program, for those meeting eligibility requirements, covers full tuition.
