Health education through medical illustration

This piece was rendered in Photoshop and illustrates small-cell lung cancer. It is intended to help a general audience learn about this condition, such as where the tumor growth occurs. Therefore, it would most likely be displayed in an editorial setting as
opposed to a textbook. I have always loved to draw and I became very interested in biology during high school. For me, medical
illustration encompasses efforts in improving my art skills and compounding my knowledge of science and medicine. I also enjoy the challenge of trying to teach someone about anatomy, a disease or a procedure, using only an illustration.
