Kyle Grimaldi’s profile page shows stories that University News created about him as well as a photo and sports information that he added.

University News is introducing a new way to spread good news about our students’ achievements. is an online service that allows RIT to send announcements, such as when students enroll, make the Dean’s List or earn a degree, to their hometown newspapers. These announcements also become online stories that are e-mailed to the students, so they can share their good news on Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites.

When University News creates a story, also creates an online profile for students, so they can add photos and other achievements. Collecting all of this good news in one place creates a positive online presence for RIT students—an important feature to have when companies turn to the Internet to research job applicants.

For example, a potential employer searching for recent graduate Kyle Grimaldi will come across his profile page and see that Kyle received a fellowship award and an Outstanding Undergraduate Scholarship Award from RIT. Kyle also added a photo, his major and that he played on the men’s soccer team. Kyle can share any of these accomplishments on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or LinkedIn.
