RIT Cares: A Walk Against Violence to benefit Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims starts at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Infinity Quad.

Delta Sigma Pi invites clubs, organizations, campus friends and the RIT community to come together and stand against violence from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday.

RIT’s co-ed business fraternity is sponsoring RIT Cares: A Walk Against Violence to honor the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. The walk will take place from the Infinity Quad to the Sundial, where a vigil will held to pay respects.

A donation box will also be available, where 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Newtown Memorial Fund, which helps provide relief for funeral expenses for the victims’ families, and will set up a memorial to remember those who were lost in the community.

Assisting in organizing this memorial event is Tykemia Boatwright, a third-year marketing major in RIT’s E. Philip Saunders College of Business.
