Power fully restored on campus
3:05 p.m. today:
Rochester Gas and Electric has fully restored power to the RIT campus. Thank you for your patience during today's power outage.
2:20 p.m. today:
The cause of the power outage is related to a main power line at the University of Rochester, which was damaged by a contractor. RG&E is inspecting and repairing that line. Power is coming back on incrementally. All power at RIT should be restored within one hour.
2:15 p.m. today:
The power outage continues. The cause is not yet known. There is no estimate of when power will be restored.
1:40 p.m. today:
The RIT power outage is related to a Rochester Gas and Electric issue off campus. RG&E officials are investigating. The outage is beyond the RIT campus.
1 p.m. today:
Half of campus is without power. Details will be announced as they become available.

RIT’s College of Liberal Arts and University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education have established new 3+2 and 4+1 admissions agreements, providing RIT undergraduate students with expedited pathways to launch their careers in teaching, higher education, or counseling. These agreements streamline the process for eligible students to earn both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees within a five-year timeframe.

RIT President David Munson announces plans to step down in 2025
RIT President David Munson will retire in 2025 after leading the university for eight years and capping an illustrious 40-plus-year career in higher education. His last day in office will be June 30, 2025.
