Bevier Gallery, in conjunction with RIT Libraries at Rochester Institute of Technology, hosts an exhibition of alumni works selected from The Wallace Library Purchase Prize collection amassed since 1972.

“In Retrospective: Selected Works from the Wallace Library Art Collection 1972-2009” opens with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in conjunction with RIT’s Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend. The show runs through Nov. 9.

There are 71 artists featured in the show—with 74 selections include paintings, sculpture, prints of all types, posters, ceramic and glass objects, jewelry and photographs. The exhibition celebrates The Wallace Library Purchase Prize collections and its commitment to support and document the work of students within RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

The MFA Purchase Prize was started in 1972 and encompasses 200 works of art from graduate students in the School of Art and Design and School for American Crafts. The Photo Purchase Prize began in 1981 and now has more than 275 works from undergraduates and graduates participating in the School of Photography Honors Show.

Bevier Gallery is handicapped-accessible and is located in James. E. Booth Hall. Visitor parking is available in E and F lots.
