RIT men’s hockey junior captain Matt Garbowsky, along with Brad McGowan, and women’s hockey junior captains Celeste Brown and Lindsay Grigg, invite the Rochester and RIT communities to sign the last ceiling beams Tuesday before they are installed into the Gene Polisseni Center. The event will take place 1-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the lower level of the Ritter Arena and RIT locker room entrance.

The Rochester community is invited to join the RIT men’s and women’s hockey teams, Corner Crew, Pep Band and university members to “Power the Polisseni Center” and sign the last ceiling beams before they are installed into the Gene Polisseni Center.

The event will take place 1-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the lower level of the Ritter Arena and RIT locker room entrance.

In addition to members of the RIT men’s and women’s hockey teams in attendance to sign the beam, there will be live performances from the RIT Pep Band, and RIT President Bill Destler will be in attendance. Members of the RIT and Rochester community are invited to enjoy light refreshments and activities and leave a lasting impression by signing the final beam that will be installed into the ceiling of the Polisseni Center, slated to open in summer 2014.

Later in the evening, the men will take on AHA rival Canisius College at Buffalo State Ice Arena at 7:05 p.m.

Stay tuned for an announcement in spring 2014 about the Polisseni Center’s “final pour,” the final layer of concrete on the floor of the arena.
