A “Viewpoints” essay offering wildlife safety tips, written by Lynn Daley of RIT Global Risk Management Services, and television news coverage of RIT’s surprise visit to campus by a black-bear cub in October were among the month’s most-viewed RIT news stories.

Above, the cub—dubbed “Gibson” by some—rests in a state Department of Environmental Conservation bear trap after being tranquilized and captured Oct. 15 in RIT’s Sol Heumann quadrangle. The creature was later released near a state wildlife management area in Naples, Ontario County.
